I just realized that I don't have a link to my old website anywhere on this new creation. Excuse the annoying geocities popup adds, at the time there were few good options for free webhosting.
I just picked up a film from the camera shop, word of wisdom, do not take photos while you are drunk, at least not with a manual SLR. Only about 3 of the ones taken while drinking turned out halfway decent. They are added to the bottom of this gallery from Carl & Rebecca's wedding. The pics of the aurora borealis that we had here in Nova Scotia turned out really well, see those ones Here
I found this fun little surfing game the other day, fun way to kill some time. It can be a little tricky, but by the looks of some of the high scores, there are people out there that are really good at it. A nice change to play something where you aren't shooting everything in sight.

I was just looking for a picture on my hard drive and came across this, I have had this for years and haven't looked at it for a while, always good to poke fun at microsoft. see the pic here.
I just spent the afternoon scanning pictures, and uploaded them to the galleries, Not much else to do but shovel on a crappy snowy windy day. At least I got an early call telling me not to bother even trying to go to work.

Then go to this website and type "somebody" into the check inbox field, and whammo, you check the e-mail sent to that address. If the address doesn't exist, it gets dynamically created when mail is recieved for it. The messages stick around for a couple of hours so you don't have to constantly check to see if you got the message you were looking for. No more spam from companies trying to sell you software and other things that you just wanted to look at once or try the demo of and find out if it is crap.

Well after some not so flattering feedback and a bunch of reading on the web, I decided that black is not the best colour for a background. I could just not handle going with white, so I picked a colour partway in between. Html colour#cccccc, grey#1.
Black was my origional colour of choice, but after reading that is mostly associated with porn sites and sites created by teens, I did not want people to get the wrong impression. For the record this is not a porn site and I am not a teen, so grey it is.
Well, I bought a new rear disk for my full suspension bike yesterday, new to me that is. It is a Hayes Mag 8", and I can already tell the difference compared to the HFX-9 that I took off. I put the caliper on, squeezed the lever, tightened the bolts and boom, adjusted and ready to go, no fiddling so the disk doesn't drag like the HFX caliper. The lever mount isn't quite as stiff as the purple hayes lever that I have for the front brake, but the lever itself is lots smoother and doesn't flop around at all. I have been cursing the HFX-9's for a while, they never stay adjusted properly, and have inconsistent performance, the Hayes MAGs are definitely the way to go, even if they do cost quite a bit more.

ARRG, I am at work trying to get a piece of demo software to work properly. This software is a document management system, and as far as I can see its only purpose is to make accessing the files you want to use more complicated. The install has so many steps, I don't even remember if I have all the necessary components installed, or if there is a misconfiguration somewhere. I don't know how much this software is worth, but I think the money would be better spent on giving the users a tiny bit of training about where to save documents rather than spent on this software that half of them will never even make an attempt to try and use.
All right, I just did an update to a bunch of things on the website. I was having trouble with FP hover buttons displaying properly in firebird on some computers, stupid Sun java runtime environment, or it might be Stupid microsoft not implimenting java correctly. Anywho, I made up a bunch of gif buttons in PSP, they actually look better than the FP hover buttons anyway. Doing this also let me get rid of duplicate non java pages I had. Now the only possible glitch is the counter not displaying properly, but that is way less important than actually being able to navigate the site.

Woo Hoo, I found the problem, I was thinking that for some reason some of the .cgi scripts were not working properly, but it was my own silly error, in the mt.cfg file I had specified the url for the site as bikeeast.com.COM. I guess I have dot comitis. everything seems to work just peachy now.
Now off into the never never land of raw html editing to figure out how to make this blog look like the rest of my site.
This is a whole new thing for me, I will have to see how things work. Movable Type was a bit of a task to set up, and I don't think everything is working quite right yet, but it has been a learning experience.
